Fraxion Payments: Micropayment WordPress Plug-in for Bloggers

Fraxion Payments recently released its WordPress micro payments plug-in which enables quality bloggers to charge as little as 1c per Article. Bloggers and journalists can now inch closer to the lion’s share of profit by inching closer as about US1c, with one click. In reality up to 85% is paid on a monthly basis for purchased articles to the news provider, this will serve as a massive income booster to citizen journalists.

The issue of over-paid content and the need for Internet payment methods for quality journalism have been closely debated in the past by journalism experts, such as Walter Issacson. The need of the hour was to let the news, to make full use of the Internet and simultaneously generate a prominent income to support the creators of such quality works.

“You cannot go any lower than 1c and one single click. It could not be easier than this” says Chris Wilkins, the co-founder of Fraxion Payments. “Micropayments were always thought possible if the price point was low enough and if it was convenient enough” adds Peter Cashmore, from mashable.com.

The plug-in introduced by Fraxion Payments is made for WordPress, the most widely used blogging freeware. After installation the blogger can set his price for articles, and chose which parts of the article he needs to “lock” and “unlock”. Usually, the “unlocked” part of the article contains the headline and the introduction which can be viewed publicly and be indexed by search engines.

Readers have to pay the appropriate amount of “Fraxions” for viewing the locked parts of the article. “Fraxions”, can be paid through credit cards from a user account set up by the reader. By using Fraxion Payment’s plug-in, users are just one click away from unlocking and reading a complete article on any supported blog site.
